I’m the editor of Maplewood-Brentwood Patch, a local news website in the St. Louis suburbs. I’m responsible for all editorial coverage of these two communities, whether that’s government, business, education, sports or arts. I supplement my personal coverage by hiring freelance reporters and photographers in the community. I either write, assign, edit or post every article on the site. I successfully launched the first Patch website in the St. Louis area and established our journalistic presence in the community. Hashtaglife.com is a story blog I started with a couple of friends after we graduated from college. The stories are narratives told by twentysomethings who transition from college into adulthood while trying to figure out what’s next. Be sure to check out a few of my posts:


As a multimedia intern for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch / STLToday.com, I was responsible for updating the website with pieces of topical multimedia content, like entertainment quizzes and news timelines. I also helped the veteran multimedia designers by gathering data and crunching numbers while they programmed cool graphics. Here are some of the projects I worked on:


While I filled a number of roles at the Columbia Missourian, I primarily covered the city and county government beat as a multimedia and information graphics reporter.
